Optometry Scotland is encouraging members to help share Glaucoma UK’s National Patient Voices Survey, the largest survey of people living with glaucoma ever undertaken in the UK.
The survey is open to anyone who has glaucoma or is currently being monitored for the condition and aims to gather the experiences of around 10,000 people. The findings will help inform Glaucoma UK’s work and strengthen the patient voice in future decisions about glaucoma care, treatment and support across the UK.
Running until Sunday 6 September 2026, the survey is being coordinated by Glaucoma UK and independently facilitated by the Picker Institute.
Optometry professionals and students in patient-facing roles can play an important part by raising awareness of the survey and supporting patients who may need assistance to participate. The online survey has been designed to be accessible to people with visual impairment, while paper copies are also available.
Those with glaucoma, or who are being monitored for glaucoma, can complete the survey at https://glaucoma.uk/national-patient-voices-survey/
