A number of changes have been introduced to the NPCCD Ophthalmic platform, affecting Ophthalmic Clinician Data Access (OCDA), Ophthalmic Practice Data Access (OPDA) and Health Board reporting.
The key changes are:
- OCDA access will now be generated automatically from the clinician’s NHS email address. Once the Host Board adds the NHS email address, an OCDA invitation will be sent directly to the clinician.
- Updating NHS email addresses must now be completed using the new ‘Set NHS Email Address’ option within the Clinician Details section.
- OPDA access will now be linked to both the clinician’s NHS email address and their current Part 1 association with a practice on NPCCD.
- Only clinicians who are currently Part 1 listed and associated with a practice can be granted OPDA access. Access will be automatically revoked when that practice association is closed.
- Health Board users will also have access to a new ‘All Practices’ report, providing a broader range of practice information, including the most recent practice inspection dates.
Updated OCDA and OPDA guidance will be available through the ‘Help’ section within the NPCCD platform.
Members who use NPCCD should be aware of these changes when accessing or updating clinician and practice information.
