Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) is marking its 150th anniversary with a special weekend of celebrations, including two Anniversary Celebration Parties’ on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August 2026.
The reunions are open to everyone, not only GCU alumni, and with so many optometrists across Scotland having studied at the University, it would be fantastic to see a strong optometry presence at the celebrations.
Guests will be welcomed by GCU Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Mairi Watson, who will share a short update on the University today, followed by an evening of celebration hosted by Capital Radio DJ and GCU graduate Katy J.
Tickets include a welcome drink, wine and beer on the table, a hot fork buffet and a full evening of entertainment.
Friday 28 August
Festival favourites Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5, fronted by GCU graduate John McAlinden, will perform live before a DJ set from Katy J.
Saturday 29 August
Laura Boyd and the Capri Sons will bring rock and indie favourites to the celebrations, fronted by STV presenter, GCU graduate and Honorary Graduate Dr Laura Boyd, followed by another DJ set from Katy J.
Tickets are £50 per person or £450 for a table of 10.
