Latest modules build on OT’s training suite to support across the practice team
Optometry Today (OT), in partnership with the Association of Optometrists (AOP) and the Vision team at Johnson & Johnson, has launched four new modules within its Practice team training programme.
The new content builds on OT’s growing suite of training that is designed to support the wider practice team, offering practical guidance on key areas of patient care. The latest modules focus on making practices more child friendly, recommending OCT, contact lens consulting room advice, and non-tolerance in practice.
The extended training package provides staff with learning resources, supports practices in consolidating skills, and promotes consistency across teams.
Ceri Smith-Jaynes, OT Clinical Editor for Multimedia, said: “The OT Practice team training suite has been bolstered by four brand new modules. This means there are now 16 videos, relevant to your support staff and free to access. Participants will get a certificate for each module they pass, allowing them to build a portfolio of their training as they progress.”
Risha Patel, Professional Education and Development Manager for the Vision Team UK & Ireland at Johnson & Johnson, said: “At Johnson & Johnson, we recognise the vital role the whole practice team plays in supporting a successful contact lens journey.
Speaking about the module, Patel said: “Our latest module has been developed to build confidence across the team, equipping them with practical tools to guide patients through the fitting process – addressing common myths, answering questions, and supporting them before, during and after fitting. By strengthening these conversations, we can help create more positive experiences and better long-term outcomes for patients.”
Each module is non-CPD and includes prerecorded lectures with a short multiple-choice exam.
