Today, the GOC announced they have launched their 2026 Workforce and Perceptions survey to better understand registrants’ work experiences, including views on their job satisfaction, working conditions, and plans for the future.
This year’s survey will include new questions on:
- Driving vision standards to help inform the sector’s view on the government’s proposal for mandatory sight tests for drivers aged 70+.
- The impact of artificial intelligence on the profession.
The survey is being run independently by Enventure Research to ensure all responses remain confidential.
We’d be grateful if you could support the GOC in promoting the survey across your channels to boost this year’s response rate.
The findings from this year’s survey will help inform GOC policy and assist other optical organisations and government departments who then use the data to identify trends in the workforce across the UK.
The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete and there is a prize draw to win a £250 online gift card as a thank you for taking part.
The closing date for the survey is 22 April. For more information about the survey, read our press release.

Thank you in advance for your support.
