Optometry Wales New Wellbeing Resource

Optometry Wales has supported the launch of a new wellbeing resource for people working and studying across UK optometry.

The Person Behind the Role: Well-being and purpose in Optometry, written by Sheena Tanna-Shah, launched on 2 September 2026 and explores wellbeing, identity, confidence and the pressures that can come with professional and personal responsibilities.

The book encourages readers to consider the individual behind the role, with a focus on themes including self-doubt, exhaustion, changing priorities and the importance of looking after personal wellbeing throughout a career.

With support from Optometry Wales, a digital edition of the book is available free of charge to everyone working or studying within UK optometry.

A printed edition is also available for those who prefer a physical copy.
