Rural Healthcare Educational Research Awareness and Skills Development Series
We’re pleased to share a new professional development opportunity designed specifically for those working or living in remote, rural, or island communities.
The National Centre has commissioned the University of Aberdeen to deliver a Rural Healthcare Educational Research Series—a practical, step‑by‑step programme that supports practitioners to turn everyday rural practice into meaningful research.
This series is ideal for anyone who wants to:
• Spot research opportunities in their daily work
• Design studies that truly reflect rural realities
• Build skills in gaining funding, disseminating findings, and creating impact
The programme includes an introductory seminar followed by three interactive workshops covering:
- What rural healthcare education research is and why it matters
- Fundamentals of designing strong research questions
- Planning and developing a research project
- Approaches to dissemination, knowledge sharing, and impact generation
We are now inviting expressions of interest from colleagues across remote, rural, and island settings who would like to take part. Thank you, and we hope you’ll consider joining this exciting opportunity to help shape the future evidence base for rural healthcare education.
