AOP announce education a “standout success” at 100% Optical

The Association of Optometrists (AOP) wide-ranging programme of innovative education enjoyed by thousands of eye care professionals attending the UK’s largest optical event.

Thousands of new and returning delegates to 100% Optical attended over 100 CPD sessions, as part of the Association of Optometrists’ (AOP) popular education programme created for the event.

Offering a wide range of clinical and professional development sessions across education hubs, there was consistently strong attendance throughout the three-day event, from 28 February-2 March. The education programme reflected key themes shaping modern practice, including glaucoma management, myopia, and the use of artificial intelligence in clinical settings.

Dr Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education, said: “This year’s programme reflected the ongoing evolution of our profession and our commitment to providing education that is both relevant and immediately applicable in practice. Each session was developed to support clinical decision making and improve the quality of patient care. It was encouraging to see how highly practitioners valued the opportunity to gain practical insights that advance their professional development. We are pleased that the programme enabled colleagues across the sector to deepen their expertise and further elevate the standard of care they deliver.”

Wendy Steele, Commercial Director at the AOP, said: “100% Optical continues to be a central event for the profession, with education a standout success. We are proud to deliver a programme shaped by practitioner feedback and designed to address the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. We would like to thank our sponsors and partners for their support in making the show the success that it is, enabling us to deliver an event that improves clinical practice, supports professional development, and ultimately enhances patient care.”
