Third edition of Optometry Today’s myopia management guide

Optometry Today (OT) is launching the third edition of its myopia guide, a print and digital resource designed to aid optometrists, dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians working in the field of myopia management.

Dream big: supporting patients with tailored myopia management plans in 2025 and beyond, is produced in partnership with the Association of Optometrists (AOP) and CooperVision.

The guide serves as a professional development tool for every member of the practice team to learn and develop their skills in myopia management.

Wendy Steele, AOP Commercial Director, said “As knowledge of myopia management continues to advance, equipping eye care professionals with the latest insights and practical strategies is essential. The third edition of the myopia guide builds on previous editions, offering a comprehensive resource to ensure every practice team member feels confident in guiding patients and their families through their myopia management journey.”

The guide covers topics such as scenario-based myopia management tips, practical strategies for introducing myopia management in all modes of practice, a parental perspective on myopia management, and approaches to offering a tailored patient journey.

Professional Affairs Lead for Myopia Management for the UK & Ireland at CooperVision, Nicky Latham, said: “CooperVision is passionate about empowering eye care professionals to change the trajectory of childhood myopia. The latest version of the myopia guide covers the clinical guidance and provides practical insight into the roles practice team members can play in a patient’s myopia management journey.”

The printed guide is included in OT’s June/July Skills and Satisfaction edition, landing on 7 June. Readers can also access the guide online by visiting, www.optometry.co.uk/myopia-guide
