DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEyecare Birmingham is now available to book with the £45 Early Bird offer running until 1st April 2026. We are moving to a fantastic new venue\, right in the heart of Birmingham on 20th September. Fazeley Studios will be the new home of Eyecare Birmingham and we can’t wait to see you all there!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur next event is Eyecare Huddersfield\, which returns to the Cedar Court Hotel on 10th May. Both Eyecare Birmingham and Huddersfield will have 2 dedicated CPD tracks\, with education available for Optoms and DOs. Peer review is included and breakfast\, lunch and refreshments are all provided.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoth events will welcome back a wide range of exhibitors\, bringing you the very best equipment\, frames\, lenses and services available in the industry. SUMMARY:Eyecare Education Free CPD Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join us for next installment in the Mark’ennovy FREE CPD Webinar series on 15th October at 7pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis lecture will consider the different areas communication necessary when supporting patients with myopia management. Considerations on discussing risk\, product and adherence to treatment with patients and their parents/carers shall be explored. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRisk – the ‘why’. How risk of myopia-related pathologies later in life can be made relevant to children and their parents/carers. What can you say and what can’t you say. What red flags do you need to consider – especially when talking to myopia parents. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProduct – what is available\, how do you explain how they work\, how can choice of product be individualised through visual task analysis. Ensuring consent at all stages. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdherence to treatment – Providing correction AND treatment rather than just correction. Helping patients understand these aren’t just glasses or contact lenses. What does good look like. Keeping an eye on how they’re going and understanding when a change is needed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur guest speaker is Alexandra Webster MSc\, PGDipE\, FBDO CL\, FHEA\, FBCLA\, who is a qualified dispensing optician and contact lens optician and has worked in both Independent and Multiple practice. Alex is a practical examiner in ophthalmic dispensing and contact lens for ABDO. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlex is also Professional Development Director at ABDO and has worked in contact lens professional services and optical education for over 15 years\, gaining a Master’s degree in Healthcare Professional Education\, and is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Education.
