SUMMARY:SCONe Online Collaborative Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Shaping Communication for Better Eye Health in Scotland. \nHow can we encourage people in Scotland to take better care of their eyes and attend regular eye examinations? \nThis collaborative workshop offers a space to reflect on and refine a draft set of practical eye health messages co-developed with Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) contributors. Together\, we’ll explore how to make these messages more engaging\, inclusive\, and effective in promoting early engagement with eye care. \nWe are reaching out to everyone with an interest in eye health including optometrists\, ophthalmologists\, health professionals\, researchers\, communication specialists\, charity representatives\, and members of the public. We invite you to share your insights on what resonates\, what’s missing\, and how we can strengthen our collective efforts to support better eye health across Scotland. \nWorkshop Goals \n\nCo-create tailored messages that promote early engagement with eye care.\nShare ideas on how to communicate preventive eye health messages effectively.\nExplore practical ways to reach different groups within the Scottish population.\nStrengthen collaboration across sectors to improve eye health awareness.\n\nWorkshop details: \n\nDate: Wednesday 10th December\nTime: 13:00 to 14:30\nLocation: Online\, via Microsoft Teams\nMaterials: A draft and agenda will be shared in advance\n\nAbout SCONe \nSCONe is a Scotland-wide research project based at the University of Edinburgh. The project collects and safely stores retinal images from routine eye examinations to improve the early detection of eye and systemic conditions.
