SCONe Online Collaborative Workshop

December 10 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Shaping Communication for Better Eye Health in Scotland.

How can we encourage people in Scotland to take better care of their eyes and attend regular eye examinations?

This collaborative workshop offers a space to reflect on and refine a draft set of practical eye health messages co-developed with Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) contributors. Together, we’ll explore how to make these messages more engaging, inclusive, and effective in promoting early engagement with eye care.

We are reaching out to everyone with an interest in eye health including optometrists, ophthalmologists, health professionals, researchers, communication specialists, charity representatives, and members of the public. We invite you to share your insights on what resonates, what’s missing, and how we can strengthen our collective efforts to support better eye health across Scotland.

Workshop Goals

  • Co-create tailored messages that promote early engagement with eye care.
  • Share ideas on how to communicate preventive eye health messages effectively.
  • Explore practical ways to reach different groups within the Scottish population.
  • Strengthen collaboration across sectors to improve eye health awareness.

Workshop details:

  • Date: Wednesday 10th December
  • Time: 13:00 to 14:30
  • Location: Online, via Microsoft Teams
  • Materials: A draft and agenda will be shared in advance
